This book is in the Red Eye Fiction Series. It is a Young Adult Fiction book and a horror story. Dark Room is about a poor girl named Darla, and her dad called Hopper. The mother committed suicide when Darla was only eleven years old. The father and daughter move all around America in search of a good home, and find themselves in a small town called Saffron Hills. Saffron Hills has a dark past; a murderer was on the loose in 1995. He was thought to hang himself as part of the guilt of brutally murdering the Saffron Hills Beauty Pageant winner, but Darla isn't so sure.
As five brutal murders play out during the story, Darla keeps getting scary visions of who will die next. With only her friends, Sasha and Frank, knowing about her astonishing perceptions, Darla must find out who the murderer is before someone she holds dear to her is the next victim.
I love this book because it is truly addictive to read, while being scary, horrific and keep-you-awake-at-night chilling at the same time. When I first started reading it I wasn't sure if I should keep reading it or not because it scared me out of my wits when the first murder happened. Nevertheless, it is definitely a must-read and if you are in for a good scare, try it! The twist at the end is unforgettable, and once you have started reading these type of books, you can't stop.
5 out of 5 stars!
